Corinna Girard was born in Boston, MA in 1977, but has lived in over 45 cities and 4 countries. No, she is not from a military family, rather the daughter of a wandering gypsy who brought her child along on her own quest for meaning. No place, and yet every place, is her home. Corinna's moving lyrics and emotive voice express this adventurous life that she has experienced. Corinna began her musical journey in 1995 when she sang in the Carson-Newman gospel choir. During her senior year there, she also toured with a band of classmates around eastern Tennessee. After school Corinna moved to Mali, West Africa. It is a country that she loves passionately and that occupies a deep place in her soul. It was there that she truly became a "musician". She was the only foreigner in her village, hours away from any familiar thing. Though her village loved her, there were many emotions she could not express to them. Corinna's feelings seemed so insignificant compared with the struggles of their lives in the Sub-Sahara; but they were real to her and needed to be articulated. Thus, the birth of her songwriting. During her year there, Corinna composed over 15 songs. Corinna returned to the States in 2000 and has since been taking every opportunity to share her music with others. She performs weekly with Charisma (a cover band) in Naples, Florida as lead singer. She is also the minister of music and lead singer for the Vineyard Community Church of Naples. She sings her own music regularly for coffee houses and specials events. Corinna continues to compose music expressing her thoughts on the world around her, those things that enthrall her, and those things that infuriate her. Her recent marriage and birth of her son are sources of inspiration to her song-craft as well. It is her husband, past sound engineer for Plus XXX Studios in Paris, France, who recorded her present demo album.
