Crusafix, born in Yonkers, NY June 6, 1987, is more than familiar with the value of freedom. At the age of five his father was sentenced to life in prison. Forced to grow up quick in Jersey City, New Jersey, Crusafix listened to Hip-Hop artists such as Doug E. Fresh, Notorious B.I.G., and DMX. At the age of 12 he began battling other local MC’s and developing a name for himself. His ability to bring the pain to contending freestyle MC’s as well as his capability of communicating the hurt, earned him the alias Crusafix. Being raised by his grandparents, his adolescence proved challenging for them. Though they did the best they could by him, he made some mistakes along the way. All societal debts paid, in 2007, Crusafix found a new home in Scranton, located in Pennsylvania’s Northeastern region (NEPA). With a fresh start in sight, roughly one year after settling into the new locale, he was introduced to Bee Ez. After contributing to “Chasin’ This Paper” featured on Bee Ez’s self-titled debut LP, Crusafix was introduced to NEPA musical engineering force Joe Loftus and Dana B. from the record label Track Masons. At this time plans for his debut album were developed. Inspired by enduring hard times and the desire to show the world there’s more to life than negativity; Crusafix is determined to find a place in the Hip-Hop community. In 2009, he completed his debut album, Speech Of The Beats, featuring the first single “Feelin’ Good,” and boasted serious involvement with Track Masons’ 2009 compilation The Product. 2010 brought Crusafix involvement with label mate Rukus’ debut album as well as plans for a new LP entitled No Holdin’ Back slated for an April 2011 release. He has several stage appearances to his credit including opening for Bone Thugs N Harmony, Cassidy, Saigon, & Canibus. He has also recorded music with Juelz Santana. Armed with a unique sound, a surplus of deliveries, & original concepts, he is willing to “Pay the cost to be the boss.”
