German melodic death metal outfit "Crypts for the Living" are anything but ordinary, at least in musical terms. Straying far from
the genre's usual definitions, the group creates their very own sound, which in contrast with the traditional lineup consisting of two guitars, bass and drums, is surely unconventional. Aggressive death metal riffs are contrasted by mellow acoustic passages and melancholic doom-elements. Despite their complex structures and elaborate arrangements, the songs are surprisingly catchy.
The band's origins date as far back as late 2006, but it took some time to become a serious band due to changing lineups. In 2009 the remaining founding members Benni (Drums) and Philipp
(Bass, Vocals) were able to complete the band with guitarists Dave and Florian. With this lineup, the demo „Memories Never Had“ was recorded
in spring 2010 and published online. In late August, the selfrelease was made available on CD as well. In spring the four metalheads also celebrated their stage premier. In spite of the
successful gig, drummer Benni decided to leave the band and pursue new musical paths. Until the still vacant drummer position is reoccupied, the band is keeping busy with writing new material and is hot for further live shows
