Hey. My name is Danielle. First off, thank you so much for visiting my OURSTAGE page, and taking the time to read my words. There's nothing more I could ask for. I write songs, and sing them to a wide variety of people. Whether you like them or not, is your choice. I love to play the guitar and piano, and have a deep passion for songwriting. Anyone who sings my songs, or raises the volume when they come on, are number one in my heart. The only thing I can ask for is support, and by reading this you are giving me that. So thank you. I am a 19 year-old singer-songwriter, from Toronto, Ontario. I have a repertoire of 15+ original recorded songs, and an additional 50+ non-recorded original songs. At the age of 7, I learned how to play piano, and started to discover my singing voice. At age 12, I taught myself to play guitar, and fell in love with the art of songwriting. For a long time, I have pursued and worked toward my music career by using self-promotion, with the use of social media outlets such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Soundcloud, LinkedIn, etc. In 2008, I started playing solo acoustic sets in small coffee shops around Thornhill/Richmond Hill. As well, I have performed and been interviewed twice on the Rogers York Region Daytime Channel with Jeffrey Moore and Jacqueline Betterton. In 2009 I helped coordinate a benefit concert for HIV/Aids called York Region Live, performed in the show, and recorded an audio CD for fundraising. In 2010, I was privileged to be the subject of a student project in a course called The Business of Music (CBDC 905) through Ryerson’s Radio and Television program, in which the students had to fictionally “sign” an artist, promote their shows, and commence interviews and photo-shoots. After performing and recording solo for about two years, I realized I wanted to give my music a fuller, more pop/rock-like sound. In 2010 I formed my own band called the Danielle Knoll Band, with Stuart Weinberg (lead guitarist), Bryan Weinberg (bassist), and Adam Feldman (drummer). Together we have performed in accredited venues in Toronto and the GTA. Some include The El Mocambo, The Sound Academy, Cadillac Lounge, Bread & Circus, Falcon & Firkin, The Crown & Phoenix, and the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. The Danielle Knoll Band (DKB) have also participated in many “Battle of the Bands” competitions, and placed first in two of Supernova’s “Band on the Run” Battle of the Bands Series (2010) and the Clash of the Titans Battle of the Bands Series (2010).
