Born in São Sebastião do Paraíso (MG) – Brazil – in September 1988, Daniel Piquê began his music classes when he was six years old. Though he always found playing the piano easy he soon became fascinated by the guitar and has remained with it ever since. Born in São Sebastião do Paraíso (MG) – Brazil – in September 1988, Daniel Piquê began his music classes when he was six years old. Though he always found playing the piano easy he soon became fascinated by the guitar and has remained with it ever since. He is predominantly self-taught though has also taken classes with experienced musicians. In 2007 his Demo CD was praised by an important national magazine (Cover Guitarra), and an important music-critic named Regis Tadeu wrote a rave review praising Daniel’s work and betting on his hopeful future. Daniel’s work also appeared on the cover of the “Musicians Yearbook” printed by HMP Editor which has a lot of copies distributed by Expomusic 2007 and all around the country. Daniel also made a DVD documentary about Guitars, at the West Paulista University – UNOESTE – in partnership with Seizi Tagima (famous luthier) where he was director, scripter and editor and congratulated by Music Masters and Music PHDs. He graduated in Record Production in December 2007 at the West Paulista University – UNOESTE – in Presidente Prudente city (SP), when he was only 19 years old. Early in 2008 he joined the Takamine Group amongst great musicians such as John Scofield, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Stewart, and others. Around July 2008 Daniel recorded with Felipe Andreoli (Angra, Almah), Fábio Laguna (Angra, Hangar) and Marcelo Moreira (Almah, BiH) on a project called ONE. This had only one piece of music called OO and also a promo-video. In August/September 2008 Daniel Piquê recorded his first Official release where he played, Produced and arranged Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai, Mr Big), Mike Mangini (Steve Vai, Extreme), Fábio Laguna (Angra, Hangar) and Yaniel Matos (Kiko Loureiro). Daniel is certainly the new revelation of international music having concepts, personality and a unique interpretation. He has a large experience as a free-lance musician in studios. He also has experience with DVD records based on his own DVD-Release, DVD Guitarra and DVD-Crossword (Documentary) when he had an opportunity to direct, produce, set-up and be involved in its after-production. His life has always been music. His musical taste has always been for something that was challenging. When he was a child, he listened to Jazz and Brasilian Pop Music (MPB) too, mainly the Clube da Esquina, Minas Gerais Music. He grew-up liking the harmony and dissonances of very good music. He’s an instrumental composer, with many qualifications in music at an advanced level, using techniques like tapping, slaps, bending, etc
