About Darek Galon
Victoria, Canada
My dad was a concert pianist. As a 3 y.o. child I loved sitting under his grand piano for hours, listening as he practiced. Wow! That was real surround sound! I still remember it, and the magical maze of wooden parts under the piano!
I studied classical violin at university in Poland, but after that turned to jazz. I switched to electric violin and played different styles including megafunk, funk, harmolodic, and more.
Recorded for Polish labels, Polish Radio broadcasting corporation and others, also touring a lot, playing on stage. The biggest joy however - always was (and still is) to play with my oldest music partner Andrzej Chochol - fantastic composer and guitar player (see below links to his pages, we won together Grand Prix on one of Europe's international jazz fests years ago, and other awards - so big part of my music relates to his work).
Even now - living for years in Canada - I collaborate with Andy, and we enjoy playing together a lot. We have a bit different styles, and combining them gives interesting results. Recently I enjoy working more with electronic instruments, sampling, etc..
Here I selected couple of songs recorded with him. Thanks for stopping by! Hope I did not bore you too much.
