Since the band was first formed in 2004, Dark Days or Fair have truly lived up to their name - no matter the circumstance, they push forward. Dedication, tenacity and perseverance have pulled the band through some difficult times over the years. These ‘dark days’ have created a solid foundation which unites the band-members, and when the sun breaks through the clouds, they fully appreciate the outcome of their hard work. The band began when Patrick Watters (vocals/guitar) and Jeremy McCaig (guitar) met by chance and began creating a unique sound, by combining their decidedly different styles. It wasn’t long before Dane Dallinger (bass) was added to the line-up, contributing yet another distinctive flavour to the band, and Dark Days or Fair was born. In the years that ensued, the band worked hard, and played harder. Frequent local shows earned them an impressive fan-base in their hometown and the success of their first E.P allowed them to tour through various venues across Ontario and Quebec. The band worked with several drummers during this time, but ultimately decided that Jake Hulse was the obvious choice. With explosive rhythm and rich bass balancing the complex-yet-catchy guitars and infectious melodies, the distinctive sound of Dark Days or Fair is truly one-of-a-kind. The band’s latest project is a 12-track concept album titled “The Seam”. Each song corresponds to a chapter in the accompanying novella, written by Patrick Watters. They will be touring across Ontario this summer, and releasing the book and album in the fall. Come dark days or fair, nothing will stand in their way.
