Dark Matter Noise was formed in 2007 by Producer/Composer Allen Tompkins. He studied music and classical piano in high school and college, even instructing beginning piano for a time. Over the years his involvement in the Seattle rock and grunge scene included the bands Death and Taxes and Resonator, tied with the Gothic and metal side of music. His evolution into industrial and electronic music was symbiotic with his growth as a musician and composer. Dark Matter Noise seamlessly spans a fusion of styles and influences including electronic, Gothic, industrial, darkwave, heavy rock and pop music. It bridges a gap of experimental noise and modern electronic into the pop mainstream. They have been compared to Radiohead, Swans, Nine Inch Nails, and Pink Floyd, The Cure, The Knife, Fever Ray, and Bjork.
In Fall of 2010 Allen was joined by Charlie Drown on vocals, Chris Schenz on keys, and Juan Gomez on Drums. They are currently performing in local venues in Seattle. Dark Matter Noise is recording their first record in early 2011, with musician producer Greg Gilmore (drummer for Mother Love Bone). They currently do not have a label or management.
