The Daughters of Bluegrass came together after an idea by Lorraine Jordan and Gena Britt as they were traveling together in the Carolina Road Band. They both agreed that there were so many great female musicians and vocalists in bluegrass music, there would certainly be a demand for a musical project showing off these talented women. In 2001 the first album, “Daughters of American Bluegrass” album was released on CMH Records. The CD received a nomination for the 2005 International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) Album of the Year. The second Daughters album, Back to the Well was released on the Blue Circle Records label in February 2006 and later that year honored with the AWARD for the 2006 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year. The Daughters are now celebrating their latest release, “Bluegrass Bouquet” now available on Blue Circle Records. The CD includes 17 songs and over 50 talented women including:
