David "Comic" Alcocer: I was born in Mcallen Tx, in 1978. I moved to East Chicago Indiana, and was raised there til the age of 14. While living in Indiana, I started listening to rap music (Run DMC, Slick Rick, N.W.A, Tribe Called Qwest) My Father was into rock and roll so I had a heavy musical knowledge of everything cool from the 60's and 70's. I took guitar lessons at the age 13 but did not learn much, it was when I moved to Mcallen TX, when my real musical schooling took place. I met local musicans and started to go to shows, by hanging with musicians I picked up a few chords. I borrowed a guitar from my grandfather and started to practice different chords and pretty much taught myself. In 2001, started a band call "Unikron", and won a battle of the bands contest. Due to tensions in the band the gruop broke up in 2002. In 2003, I met A.B Quintanilla (Kumbia Allstars)and had an artist developement deal with him. I recorded several songs but the project was put on hold while A.B.Q. produced tejano records. In 2006 worked with A.B again on an english project called Brown Boi. The project was shelved again for the same reason, he began working on the "Kumbia Allstarz" record. Since then I have stared another group called "The Broken Poetz", we entered a battle of bands contest and won 1st place again the grand prize a tour van that has taken to me to many shows around the South Texas area. Currently recording new songs and looking forward to my musical future.
