Their sound has been called a cross between Gary Allan and Chris LeDoux and, also, a cross between The Rolling Stones and Steve Earle. A four-piece band, David Oakleaf & The Open Road is a high-energy show that leaves fans, promoters and club owners entertained and smiling. David Oakleaf is a Kansas native who moved to Nashville after a top 5 finish on CMT’s hit show “Can You Duet”. He soon met Georgia-born Philip Pence (bass) and Australians Michael Adams (drums) and Ben Thompson (guitar). They realized the sound they had as a band was inherently unique and decided to record their self-titled debut album, which was released in July 2010.
