Motivating rapper, exciting dancer, and unique original songwriter, that’s her Dajah Chloe Mitchell alias Deja Ice., She was born on the chilly morning of January 16, 1995 in Cincinnati, OH. Her mother was a single parent who was aided in raising her by her grandparents in a home surrounded by an extended family rich in love with theatrical talent, music, and God. She was always singing, dancing, and rapping around the house and to songs she heard on the radio. At Corryville Catholic Elementary School, music was her favorite class because that was the way to express her talent. There she shared ideas about plays and musicals, and by sixth grade she was writing her first songs. The very first song was entitled “Do You Know?”
At first, writing songs wasn’t taken seriously she just thought it was fun but in the summer of 2007 and “What It Is” became her first serious rap. Her mom had her perform it in front of her family and a performer was born. Soon after she began to go to the studio in the spring of 2008 she completed her first c.d. which has led to her to performing around the city. The more songs she wrote the more time she spent in the studio and at the age of fourteen she recorded her second c.d. After winning a few talent competitions she is now becoming known throughout the city and hopes to become the youngest breakout female rapper from the Midwest.
Deja Ice describes her music to be fun and always meaningful. One day she hopes to be in the company of Roxanne Shante, Mc Lyte and Salt & Pepa.
