Biography

DENAE'S music is "edgy rockin' country and blues". DENAE is a powerful singer, with a bluesy and soulful edge in her 19 year old voice not often heard at her age. Her intensity belies her age, and reveals itself in the unpredictable flashes of fire in her eyes, her quirky body language and occasional Jaggeresque strutting across the stage. DENAE'S first CD titled "LIVE & The Nashville Sessions" is with 4D Records and she is managed by Tunnell International. DENAE began singing at the age of 6, while living in Northern California. She moved to Boise, Idaho with her parents in 2004 and helped form a band called Denae & The Po Boys. She played the local Boise area until May of 2008, when she signed a management agreement with Tunnell International. Tunnell International negotiated a production deal for her with Gruntwerks Productions and more recently with 4D Productions. DENAE'S first CD features tracks recorded in Nashville with producer / guitarist Dave Smith - who also plays with Lee Greenwood. Other musicians on the Nashville sessions were Dave McAfee, Drums - with Toby Keith; Monty Parkey, Keys and Organ - with Darrel Worley Alan Jackson and others; Tom Theilin, Bass Guitar - with Doug Stone; and Tigar Bell on fiddle. Also on the CD are LIVE tracks recorded at The Knitting Factory with DENAE's touring band. Those members are Ronnie Long, Lead Guitar; Robert Sutherland, Piano, Organ and Vocals; Brian Palmer, Bass Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin and Vocals; Ken Bass, Rhythm Guitar and Bass, Gerrett Dougherty, Drums; and Johnny Day, Fiddle. In April of 2010 Denae began recording new songs in Nashville with legendary Producer David Z. His credits include Prince (4 albums including Purple Rain), Eric Clapton, Tim McGraw, Mark Collie, Etta James (Grammy Winner), Janet Jackson, Billy Idol, Buddy Guy, Collective Soul and many others. Denae is currently writing songs, preparing new demos and preparing for more live shows to come in the fall. Her management is also talking with record labels and distributors, as well as radio stations about her new material.
