In the winter of 2004, while living in Dallas, Texas, Derek Evans decided to pack
his things and move to California. Never having been to California and knowing
no one, he moved there with one goal to start playing music professionally. By
2006, Derek had been touring the west coast regularly. He started by playing house

2006, Derek had been touring the west coast regularly. He started by playing house
concerts from San Diego to Portland. In 2007 he started taking those fans and
applying the numbers to coffee houses. In 2008 he started hittting major venues,
small clubs, festivals, and branching out to the midwest and east coast. In 2009
Derek Evans started playing large clubs, colleges, festivals and started getting
asked to support other artists, inlcuding Blues Traveler at The Fillmore in San
Francisco. He finished the year off in San Diego opening for Everclear, where
95% of San Diego voted for him to support the band at House of Blues.
2010: Derek Evans will be releasing a new his EP “The Ballad of Stella”, which
two of the songs will be featured in the upcoming movie “Shoots and Ladders.”
Followed by a national tour in support of the release.
