Raynard Balkcom (Devero) is a talented lyricist and vocalist. He was born and raised on the west side of Chicago. Devero has been performing since he was very young. While attending Austin High School, he participated in many talent shows and received the prestigious “Art Hall of Fame” award.Devero is an outstanding artist who brings life and emotion to any song he sings. His style consists of a merging of old school and contemporary blends. He can fill a room with joy and excitement with one song and then capture your heart with another song.Devero has an extraordinary ability to create lyrics in a matter of minutes. He is truly gifted in this area. His words are magical, painting a picture while telling a story with a rhythmic beat. To watch him perform is a delightful experience.Devero is a multifaceted person. His interest include singing, writing, playing the keyboard, acting and producing. While majoring in music at Malcolm X College, he had the opportunity to perform in the hit stage play “Slave Story” that was produced at the Blackstone Theater Company in Chicago. Due to his affiliation with Sound Creations, he developed his interest in producing other artists. Since that initial seed was planted, Devero just can not seem to stop growing. He is a sponge and desires to learn every aspect of the creative process.Devero has made appearances at the following establishments:Regal Theater, Cotton Club, Drury Lane, Excalibur, Clique, Channel 19, Harpo Studios, Navy Pier Blues Festival, Taste of Chicago, Austin Town Hall and many other venues.Affiliations:Johnny P.
