Brewer, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, that is how he came to express his lyrics - attaching them to music through melody and rhythm. Devin’s passion for music began when he was 7 while singing along to Michael Jackson songs. As a teenager, realizing music was definitely something he was destined to do, he began recording in studios. Devin would really find a sense of urgency for recording music after the passing of his mother to cancer in year 2004 at the age 37. Music became a way to express feelings, hold on to good memories, as well as inspire others going through a similar situation with songs that can touch the soul and be an instrument in part of the healing process.
In keeping with following his path to becoming a successful recording artist and putting in hard work, Devin paid his dues by auditioning for Ne-Yo in Washington D.C. and traveling to New York to audition for a male R&B group. He also worked with notable producers and has written a song for upcoming R&B group, Carmen, who has been featured on MTV in the past few years. Devin also has one of his current singles entitled “You” in rotation in night clubs throughout Washington, D.C. Devin's most recent accomplishment was being selected to open for Hip-Hop artist, Roscoe Dash, at "Club 24", located in Washington, D.C. With dedication and respect to music, Devin is now ready to branch out on a global scale and share his music with the world. With powerhouse influences such as Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, and Donny Hathaway, it is Devin’s goal to make his debut with major impact as each one of his influences has.
Devin would learn that life is fragile and vowed to not only pursue his music career but also strive to achieve as many goals in life as possible. Devin started a couple businesses, to include a website and data programming company and a match-making network. In addition to running two successful companies and pursuing his career as a recording artist, Devin has authored an autobiography book about his life and his challenges along the way to success. Devin is in the process of recording new material and plans to release a full album and start performing live by the Fall, 2010.
