DIDDLEY is a Rock & Country band hailing from the Southwestern Ohio region. What began in 1999 as a Duet featuring Kim Jones on vocals and Jeff Powell on guitar & vocals would eventually evolve into the five piece Rock band they are today. Kim and Jeff’s almost magical vocal harmonies and the strumming of sweet notes on Jeff’s six string, quickly had them as regular entertainment at local Ohio venues such as Bunker's Bar & Grill (Vandalia) and Jackass Flats (Dayton). Jeff, along with Kim on backing vocals, released his first CD in January of 2000 entitled "I Want You to Know". (Recorded and mixed in Jeff’s home studio and mastered by Gary King at Refraze Studios in Dayton, Ohio). The professional sound was characterized by their sweet harmony vocal performances. In 2001, for dynamic and creative change, Jeff and Kim decided to add a third member. Lead guitarist and singer, Joe Leon joined the duet and thus DIDDLEY became a trio. This move took DIDDLEY to another level but after some time, left the now three members wondering what their music might sound like as a full fledged band. Jump ahead to 2004… enter bassist Mitch Powers and drummer Jimi Sengl forming the first incarnation of DIDDLEY the five piece Rock-n-Roll band. However, in 2005, a change in the band’s line up occurred. The departure of drummer Jimi Sengl had DIDDLEY searching for a new drummer. After a few auditions they found drummer, Danny Smith. Danny brought an exciting dynamic to the band and this new incarnation of DIDDLEY would go on to have great success playing shows, entertaining and gaining many friends and fans alike. October of 2007 would see the release of DIDDLEY's first full length album entitled; "I Had a Good Time Last Night". All Songs on this album were written and/or co-written by Kim Jones, Jeff Powell, and Joe Leon along with guest song writer Kelly McMillan, also featuring Mitch Powers on Bass and Danny Smith on Drums. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Gary King at Refraze Studios in Dayton, Ohio. As an over-all success for the band, this album touches the heart and soul of anyone who hears it. Along with of a broad spectrum of cover-song styles and selections, DIDDLEY original songs such as; “How Lucky I Am”, “Free from Your Memory” and “Save My Life” are just a few of the titles that are regularly requested where ever the band plays. September of 2008; the band found themselves switching gears once more with another line-up change. Drummer, Danny Smith was leaving the band to pursue other musical endeavors, hence DIDDLEY was once again on the search for a new drummer. After auditioning several candidates DIDDLEY hired veteran drummer George “Jorge” Nunez. Jorge’s attitude, experience and sense of humor was a perfect fit; with a new drummer on board DIDDLEY powered up to take on the upcoming new year. Now in 2010, the band is hard at work playing shows all over Southwest Ohio. They’re looking into tapping the Cincinnati market as well and with dates already booked through February of 2011, they’re looking forward to a fun and prosperous future. DIDDLEY has also begun work writing their next record and are quite anxious to get back into the studio and begin recording their sophomore CD release. A warm embrace and a huge Thank You goes out to all of the DIDDLEY faithful for all their years of love, faith and support as the band continues it’s journey to spread… music from soul to soul!
