Through his music, DILIGENT had overcome life's obstacles and has learned to stay strong. On March 16, 1997, he lost his grandmother to a massive stroke. Sadly, three years later, another massive stroke would claim the life of his mother. DILIGENT says, "My music gives me the strength to move forward." According to DILIGENT, his biggest motivations are his father, Fred, his wife, Nekie, and his two beautiful kids, Angel & C.J. They love to listen to his songs and dance to the soulful, southern hip-hop beats. Judging by his track record, they are not alone. THA BEATNIK, he was an outstanding participant of FREESTYLE FRIDAY on BET'S 106 AND PARK. He is also the 2008 ULTIMATE MIC CHALLENGE CHAMPION. In the studio, DILIGENT has collaborated with the likes of GOODIE MOB'S KHUJO GOODIE and other industry figureheads.
