D.I.S. Individual Band Member Bios EMCEE O BROWN O Brown (born in Mid-City Los Angeles August 23) is a Belizean-Mexican American rapper. O Brown is by far one of the best Emcee’s Los Angeles has ever seen. In addition to his well-respected Emcee status, O Brown is a promising writer and entertainer. O Brown has dedicated his life to music, recording his very 1st song at Smokey Robinson's house in 1998. The Birth of O Brown's solo career began in 2003 with the tragic death of his rap partner and best friend Bernard Alexander Williams. This tragedy stopped the growth of his former group "Trilogy" however was able to turn a negative in to a positive by pursuing a solo artist career. In 2005 he was asked by "B REAL" of "Cypress Hill" to rap on Volume 1 of his "Gunslingers" mix-tape. O Brown then recorded his first single "Los Angeles" featuring "B REAL" of "Cypress Hill", produced by "XL". Shortly after recording, the music video "Los Angeles" was shot, directed by Hugo V and Six 14 Productions. Interviews aired via radio on "Power106" and "Los Angeles", debuting O Brown and his talent. Than in 2006 O Brown was nominated at the 15th annual Los Angeles Music Awards, at The Music Box Theatre and won the Independent Hip Hop artist of the year award. In 2006 the recording of the "L.A." remix featuring Bishop Lamont was included in the Ill Street Dues 3 Mix-tape- Next to blow section, hosted by DJ Warrior, Talib Kweli and Glasses Malone. He than shared more verses On B REAL's, The Gunslingers Mixtape Volume 2, and then performed alongside "B REAL" at Rock the Bells, in front of well over 85,000 fans. Along side this new found following, in 2007 O Brown was called by Rime Magazine to do a one-page spread in the Draft Pick section with Ice Cube and Too Short on the front Covers. Some other recordings that followed were "Last Day Ballin' “ which was released by "DJ Baby Gee" via "The Goodfellas". The record broke at 8pm on a Friday on "KDAY" as well as "Sky is Grey", which was a "Mama's and Papa's" sample. “Sky is Grey” caught the attention of Interscope records from this music video prouced by URC. His latest single now being "Sex in the Air" which broke on "Kjlh" 102.3 FM. O Brown has managed to work with artists and producers on the strength of his drive and talent. This artist inspires the people to keep their dreams alive and to overcome fear and any obstacle that comes their way and continues to strive to be one of the best emcees today. DJ CHRISTIAN WICKS DJ Christian Wicks (born in the Manchester England August 25) is a British-American DJ who has pioneered a new movement of interlacing music and fashion in ways that have never been pursued before. At 6 years old Christian moved to west Los Angeles, giving him an entirely new perspective on how to make music. At a very young age he started to experiment with scratching on his sister’s older turntable and found his love for music. Christian than got his first set of turntables at 12 and began collecting vinyls. With years of practice Christian took a path that lead him to a chain of mentors such as DJ Edski and DJ Spider who helped form the phenomenal DJ Christian is to date. In addition to his brilliant DJ-ing skills, Christian is the President of world renowned fashion line English Laundry along side his father, Christopher Wicks, owner and designer. Under their company Defiance USA, the Wicks design and manufacture all the clothing for: English Laundry, Fender, Jimi Hendrix “The Experience”: A Clothing Collection, and Davinci. Christian helps co-produce and is the master mind behind the turn tables of D.I.S. Through his collaboration with the other band mates he offers scratches, stabs, and backup vocals enhancing the DIS sound and live show. With all of these exciting fashion endeavors heavy in motion it seems only fitting to incorporate the music movement of D.I.S. This collaboration further compliments the boundless creativity of Christian Wicks. DRUMMER CAMERON CANDELARIA Cameron Scott Candelaria (born August 9 in Ontario, CA) is an up and coming American drummer who currently resides in Riverside. Candelaria is best known for his album October Sky that was released in October 2005 when he was signed with Orange House Records. After releasing this album Candelaria decided to branch out from rock music to no longer limit his musical possibilities and further pursue his personal music aspirations. Candelaria has occasionally drummed for the band Crazy Town which is best known for their 2001 hit single “Butterfly” but he has found a perfect fit in collaboration with DJ Christian Wicks and Emcee O Brown in their new band D.I.S. In addition to being a drummer Candeleria is a promising music and fashion entrepreneur as well as having furthered his education at Chaffey College in Chino, CA in electrical engineering. Candelarias source of inspiration was that he “started with nothing”, he is a self starter who recognized that he wanted to better himself at a very young age. Candelaria started drumming at the age of 10 encouraged by his father Chris Candelaria who played guitar for Sling Shot, which was a band based out ofHollywood in the late 80s. Candelaria came onto the D.I.S. through O Brown who Candelaria has expressed took him under wing and brought together all of the band members. O Brown and Candelaria met while Candelaria was drumming with DJ Clash at a show at the popular Los Angeles club Les Deux. Candelarias long term aspirations can be summed up with the idea that he wants to make something happen, in an recent interview he expressed, “D.I.S. has a great foundation to make a difference, we are going to tour the world, make a difference and create inspirational music.”
