I have always had the influence of music on my shoulders. My grandma (RIP) with her doctorate in music played and taught piano to underprivileged children for 35 years as well as offering music scholarships out of her own pockets to those children upon graduation of high school. My father sings as well as plays piano just as my uncle did. Out of my 13 older cousins 8 are djs. They primarily only spun old school house with Craig Alexander, Dj Pharris(HEAVYHITTERS) , Terry Hunter(VIOLATOR ALL STARS). I was raised in a gospel church where I learned to sing and produce music. I interned with an old buddy of 1 of my cousins named Morrese Star. I worked under him for 2 years learning vinyl, spinning, scratching & blending. I decided after 2 years it was time to venture off on my own and have a crack @ the music scene by myself. I met an artist that was finishing up college by the name of Trudell. Along with myself and our producer J-Smoov we formed J.E.T. (JUST ENJOY THE) Muzik Group. I met my artist Benda who is signed to (LegitBallin/Koch) the 1st label to have twista independently where he sold 718k albums. I worked as an assistant DJ to Jamall Smallz (G-Unit/Interscope) while I served as the Promotions Manager under Burundi “Bun P” Partlow (formerly of HUSTLE) for LegitBallinRecords. At the same time I finagled a position as Production Assistant at the “Big Station” (WGCI) under Johnny Starks A.K.A. Koolout. I Retained that position for a 1 ½ years. I began to work more in clubs and was invited to join my 1st DJ coalition SOLOSQUAD in September of 2005. Working at several clubs I began to feel it was time to up my game. I was invited to be an affiliate of Bum Squad in early 2007by Latin Prince. Since my time as a DJ on my own I have started my own coalition of DJ known as DOPEBOYDJZ. I worked with literally hundreds of aspiring artists and many known, well liked, & respected artists. I have worked with such as artists as : Benda(ChaChingMusic/LegitBallin/Koch)Pheave(BlackgroundLLC),Ben-ONE(Universal)Crucial Conflict, Dead Prez, Mos Def, Yung Joc, Tha Pope, Sinatris (Game Set), Teedra Moses(TVT Records), Juelz Santana (Dipset), Yung Berg (Koch Records), Twista(Atlantic Records), and many many more…..
