Don was born and bred in the South Wales Valleys and is a very proud Welshman from a very large family. It was this large family in particular his older brothers who got Don singing at a very early age. He and one of his elder brothers were the entertainment for the older siblings when they had to baby-sit on a Saturday. Having started touring the Rock circuit at the tender age of fifteen Don left the music scene back in 1974. Even then he was the main songwriter in the bands he played with....

Don was born and bred in the South Wales Valleys and is a very proud Welshman from a very large family. It was this large family in particular his older brothers who got Don singing at a very early age. He and one of his elder brothers were the entertainment for the older siblings when they had to baby-sit on a Saturday. Having started touring the Rock circuit at the tender age of fifteen Don left the music scene back in 1974. Even then he was the main songwriter in the bands he played with. From 1969 1974 Don toured the UK extensively and played almost every University and College in the country, He has performed at Upstairs at Ronnies Ronnie Scotts, The Cavern, Café Des Artiste, the Old Granary, and toured abroad. In the past few years he has performed on Centre Stage Butlins Camps, the Grand Hotel Group and Warner Holidays. Dons singing experience spans Rock, Soul, Motown, Folk, and more recently Swing/Jazz. He returned to singing about six years ago all by accident in a sense He was persuaded by some of his music friends who nagged him for years to get back singing to do a few charity gigs and at one of these gigs he was approached by a man who asked if he would like to do 3 nights with the American Four Tops (With William Hicks). Initially he thought it was a wind-up but to cut a very long story short and with the encouragement of his wife he bought some gear and did the gigs with the Tops on his first day-when doing a sound check and singing Unchain My Heart and The Letter, He was approached by the Four Tops people who told him he was Awesome and that he was one of the best vocalists they had heard since they began touring!! This gave Don the confidence to give it one more go and off on the circuit he went again. It wasnt long before he was offered a compering/vocalist job in a local up-market club where he still performs when not out on the road. Don is known as much for being a great on-stage wit, as he is for his stage presence, interaction with his audiences and superb vocal skills. He says his biggest compliment from his audiences is when they say he lights up the room when he takes to the stage.
