Born on March 15th 1986 in Henderson, North Carolina. Self-Proclaimed as a street poet, the name's "DRASTIK". He was raised by a strong, single, black mother and has one blood brother. He never met his father because GOD called him home when DRASTIK was too young to remember. Though he's pursuing his career as a hip hop artist, rap wasn't always his dream. His first dream was basketball. He never got to play "Pee-Wee or Recreational" league because his grades were not good enough according to his mother. When he got to middle school, he made the first cut at tryouts. Then he was cut in the next round. He felt he wasn't picked because he was too short. This didn't keep him down because his determination was just beginning to show. His 8th grade year at Eaton-Johnson Middle School would prove to be the outlook or gaze in the future for him... After not making the basketball team, he decided to pursue other interests. (Since the age of 8yrs.) He seemed to have a feel for poetry and phrases that rhymed. During the summer of 2001, he sat down and started perfecting his wordplay on paper. (Freshman Year at Northern Vance High School)... While everyone was meeting new people and friends, DRASTIK was concentrating on get his music recorded and heard. He used to rap on the patio during lunchtime, in the hallways, and even in class. During this time was when one of Henderson's best rap grouped had been formed, "TRI-SQUAD". Consisting of DRASTIK, TRU, & DRE P. They recorded their first song together and it hasn't stopped since then. DRASTIK released two underground albums titled "ON TOP" & "FROM THE BEGINNNING". He knew becoming famous doesn't happen overnight so he continued to record new music everyday. It wasn't until his third underground album "2000 A.D. (After Drastik)"dropped, that he started getting noticed. Believed to be the track that got him mentioned was titled "LAME", a diss track to a schoolmate named Arvell Fisher. This started a lyrical war between the two and got the whole school's attention. DRASTIK recruited former classmates Kavon "K-THERO" Terry, Roman "YOUNG MAG" White, Royce "SINASTA" Miller, & James "HEARTZ" Waverly to join TRI-SQUAD. Shortly after, they recorded a group album titled "THE OUTCOME". This group album would solidify TRI-SQUAD's name into Henderson's local rap history. DRASTIK found himself loosing phocus on his grades and as result he failed 9th grade. The next year, he helped one of his cousins put together an album. Her name is Cherelle "SHARELL" Blacknall. Her debut album titled "SINCERE" was a top-seller on the streets of Henderson. Due to family and school problems, she couldn't enjoy the success of the album. DRASTIK managed to get on track academically and socially. Anyway, DRASTIK finished the year at Northern Vance High only to be sent to Western Vance High School because of his poor grades. When he arrived at Western Vance, people were already talking about his music. They wanted to know when he recorded new songs and when would he drop his next album. DRASTIK began working on his album titled "THE PREMIER". This album showed so much growth personally and musically! He eventually dropped out of high school in the 11th grade. He felt as if he belonged to his rap career 24/7. He would press 100 to 300 discs and sell them outside of Wal-Mart, Big Cheese Pizza, Marketplace Cinema, The Skateeum, Currin's Mini-Mart, Fiddle Stix Conv. Store, and "Brother's" Corner Store. His fame and new found friends went to his head at an early age. When it seemed to look up, that's when the downside came into play. TRI-SQUAD member's DRE P. got knocked, SHARELL got pregnant, YOUNG MAG moved to Philadephia PA, and TRU had writer's block. This would cripple the group hopes of making it together, so DRASTIK recruited more local rappers and kept things moving. Although the original TRI-SQUAD members were (MIA) SINASTA, HEARTZ, QZ, RON-B, OX, J-REAL, PYRO were next up to the plate. The problems began with egos and money issues within the group. This caused some members to disown the name TRI-SQUAD and go their seperate ways. DRASTIK has seen some ups and downs in his career, but his determination is still here. He's now faced with the challenge of putting TRI-SQUAD back on top as the best rap group in Henderson, N.C. and putting himself back at the top!
