He developed a love for music at the tender age of two, singing melodies around the house. He then moved on singing leads as the youngest member of the children’s choir of Shekinah Revival Temple, along with his brother Julian Ray, at the age of two. He later joined the Pennsylvania Boys Choir when he discovered that he had absolute pitch. Many close to him, including his mother, Yolanda Ray and his brother Julian Ray have influenced Devin; other influences include, Michael Jackson, Usher, Prince, Justin Tmberlake, Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, and Donny Hathaway.
