Dennis Sy is a singer/songwriter who has been bringing pride and attention to New York artists in the FilAm community across the country. His songs SHINE ON, STRONGER THAN BEFORE, and THE ME I FOUND IN YOU were nominated at the 2012 and 2013 Hollywood Music In Media Awards. One of his notable works is in spearheading the NY Handog Project that revived the song “HANDOG NG PILIPINO SA MUNDO” in 2010. He has performed at the world renown Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall in NY as part of Chapter2, 2006 LA Music Awardee for his original song REAL ME. His years of active participation in the community paved the way for his receiving the 2011 Outstanding Artist Award from the FANHS (Filipino American National Historical Society) – NY Chapter. He continues to write and interpret songs that promote his heritage as a Filipino, from the highly regarded OFW anthem “PILIPINO AKO”, a touching Christmas ballad “SA ARAW NG PASKO”, and most recently for the Sendong Typhoon rebuilding efforts with his original composition “SAMA-SAMA HARAPIN NATIN ANG BUKAS”. Dennis continues to expand beyond his comfort zone as a musical artist, and the future presents exciting opportunities as he looks forward to tackling the next challenge, be it a new song, a new video, a new show, or the branching into a yet undiscovered talent.
