WHO IS D~TOX aka D.T. (Da Truth)? D~Tox, also known as Darren Quick-Pass, is an unsigned, up and coming Hip-Hop artist out of Brooklyn, NY. Raised most of his childhood life in Marcy projects in the 90’s, it is no surprise that artists such as Jay-z, The Notorious B.I.G., and many other legendary artists have played out to be major influences in this young artists life. Amongst these legendary influences lie Daft Punk, Run DMC, Tupac Shakur, Slick Rick, Rakim, Eminem, and the list goes on. With the 90’s being labeled as, one if not, the most important decade for Hip-Hop’s culture it is easy to realize the effect it had on him. D~Tox has been rapping and performing amongst crowds since grade school. He has performed several talent shows in Middle school and free-styled with hundreds of local rappers and major artists well known as M.C. K~Swift, of the Zulu Nation, and Mr. Cheeks from Lost Boyz. In High school D~Tox has worked with other fellow up and coming musicians such as Da God aka 6EE, Stann Smith, Sini, Ace Boogie, Karl Kanine, & Christian. As a former member of Everyking, he has also collabed with talented and well documented producers such as Mr. Rios & Mr. Zwirn. He has recently performed numerous open mics and performed showcases throughout NYC & Virginia. One of his latest performances took place in the Nyuorican Poets Café, located in lower eastside Manhattan of NYC. Here he performed the stressful, imaginative, tale of 3 individuals in a song he entitled Ominous Fortune Telling. D~Tox appeared to this showcase with fellow band mate & friend, “Christian,” of the SUPERGROUP called The Bohemian Effect (T.B.E.). A group which includes 2 other Hip-Hop musicians by the names of Sini & Jae Rellz, all of which hail from the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY. D~Tox has released a hit called “Neck Is On Swole” and has gotten fantastic reviews since its release. He is currently finishing up his long anticipated album known as Cerebral Minds, which includes features like Da God 6EE, Sini, and Deamo, just to name a few. The name D.T. (a.k.a. Da Truth) extends from Darren’s alter ego which displays another talent of which he possesses. D.T. is more so the R&B persona of Darren, which he displays day in and day out in order to appeal to a larger fan base in the Hip-Hop Universe. So in closing D~Tox aka D.T. is use to exposure and possesses a strong passion and hunger in striving to be labeled as one of the best Hip-Hop artists of all time and is ready to overcome any obstacle on his path to success.
