I grew up in Nassau, which is the capital city of the bahamas which is located in the Caribbean. My rap name iz duckie and i had the name since primary skool and never let go of it since.. the meaning of duckie has nothing to do with my music. I grew up with both parents and a older sister.. I thought since having a father figure in my life who never does me or my family wrong.. that i wouldnt hav any problems.. But growing up in nassau takes that away.. the increasing violence that occurs here iz unbelievable. and every n***a that i kno has to protect himself.. simply as blowing a kiss at sum1 elses girl a young boy was fatally stabbed in a high skool. I didnt really wanted to take on these violent actions but my surroundings forced me 2.. and its not lik i can get away from it all.. nassau's only 7miles.. n its a lil dot on the map... i've grown so much into this lifestyle where its nothing anymore to hurt sum1 that messes with you.. i hav a permanent "dont give a f**k" attitude.. but when im cool i get clear my mind with music... and i wrote my first rhyme about the age of 10.. i never showed them 2 no1 because i jus used 2 rap in my mirror or something.. when i waz 14 i wrote a rap and i recorded on a cheap computer mic and i sent it to a few friends... receivin good feedback it encouraged me 2 keep on rapping.... i am still rapping and being recognized heavily.. even if im not the biggest sensation where i live i still receive the love i deserve and the credit... and i pray that i make it because i really love what i do DuckiE.......
