Ebonie Lane has been captivating audiences since the age of 2 when she first mastered the Stevie Wonder hit song “Ebony and Ivory.” From that moment, she has been engaged in a lifelong love affair with music and entertainment as a whole. Once Ebonie was able to display her talents, she dedicated her time to multiple school engagements such as theatrical choirs, orchestra, and school plays. One of her very first acting and musical experiences outside of school was in the year of 1988 when she was handed the opportunity to play the role of "Little Orphan Annie". In that musical play she stole hearts singing the famous "Some where over the Rainbow" at a very well known Theater of the arts called The Karamu House, located in Cleveland, Ohio. "Persistence is the key" has been her mantra. Ebonie has worked to create and take advantage of every opportunity. In 1998 Ebonie worked with the world famous Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony. “Layzie Bone” assembled a 3-member girl group named Potion that highlighted Ebonie. In the year of 2000 Potion made their debut on the album entitled "Layzie bone presents Mo-thug III the Mother-ship." The song was called "Wanna be Ballaz", written by Ebonie Lane, and two other members. Other artists she has worked with include: Jo Jo Hailey (Jodeci) Larry “Bingo” Marcus (The Rude Boys) Myron (“It’s Got to Be Destiny”)· Big Keyz In September of 2000 Ebonie co-starred in the Jahari video "Come Ride with Me", presented by Success Records/Warner Bros. In the same month Ebonie was selected to perform in a showcase in Columbus, Ohio for Epic/Sony records. Ebonie has showcased for an array of well-known entertainment vets, some of which include Russell Simmons, Run from the group “Run - D - Mc,” and Mario Winans. In August of 2004 Ebonie auditioned with American Idol and out of the 10,000 that auditioned she was among the few from Cleveland that was selected as a finalist for the second round. As a result of that success Ebonie was interviewed by the News Harold and received excellent reviews regarding her performance. Although music seems to be Ebonie’s forte, Acting and Modeling has rendered her much success as well. In August of 2004 Ebonie was selected for Cleveland State University’s 2004 marketing campaign. This campaign landed Ebonie her first commercial. The CSU commercial featuring Ebonie hit prime - time television in January of 2005 and is still running. The commercial has hit networks such as NBC, FOX, WB, ESPN, and many others. In addition to the commercials, Ebonie has been featured on billboards located in malls and kiosks located in downtown Cleveland. Also Ebonie has been featured in the #1 best-selling black hair magazines, “Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles and Care Guide” and one of Cleveland’s own local magazines, “Horizon.” Local News papers that have featured Ebonie include The Call in Post, Plain Dealer, News Harold, and the Record-Courier. Ebonie has never ceased to amaze anyone with her talents and remains busy. In 2005 Ebonie starred in the hit play entitled “Love Don’t Live Here,” held at the well known Play House Square. In July of 2007 Ebonie’s sitcom debut was on the TV drama “Such is Life,” featuring her in the role of Holli Cooper, televised on WUAB channel 43. “Such is Life,” was presented by Media Moguls, Inc.
