Born in Dayton, Ohio, the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson was still the main artist in her record collection. But in 1997, she heard Shania Twain, “the Queen of Country Pop” and became a country music fan. From there, Shai began to listen to an entire backlog of country artists from Dolly Parton to Hank Williams. Having a great respect for the tradition of country music, Shai includes fan favorites in every set. Shai lives and records "her own kind of country" in Nashville, Tennessee.
