Elements of Truth founders Charity and E.J. Youngblood were born and raised in San Jose, California. Charity, acclaimed vocalist and songwriter, has been singing since the tender age of five, starting in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir. For years, Charity has experimented with multiple styles of music including Pop, R&B, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Blues, Alternative, and Country.
E.J. Youngblood, “The Renaissance Man”, is a composer, songwriter, producer, and vocalist. Through the direction of his late grandmother, BigMama, E.J. mastered how to play music by ear. By age 18, E.J. had composed over 40 songs ranging from Classical styles to Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Soul. His original compositions have been featured in numerous dance and theater productions, poetry readings, as well as film developments throughout the Bay Area.
Together, this brother and sister team has craftfully created a unique sound which has captivated the ears, hearts, and minds of audiences throughout California. Elements of Truth have performed at many popular venues including Yoshi’s Jazz Club and Maxwell’s. The group has worked with a variety of artists such as American Idol finalist Latoya London, and HBO Def Jam poetry star, Ise Lyfe. They live and breathe through their passionate understanding of the power of music, and are determined to be stars in the world of music and entertainment.
