K-LIL (Khalil McIver) and LIL-J (Jaylon Hudson) joined forces in December 2010 when they discovered their mutual interest in writing and performing hip hop. The two also acknowledged the other’s fashion sense. They both have been blessed with the genes that radiate musical talent along with their zest for SWAGG!
K-LIL was introduced to music while in his mother's womb. He was destined to be a part of the music world. Again, it’s all about the genes…and he has the special ones. K-LIL comes from two families with strong musical foundations. His paternal family has a host of seasoned songbirds that can carry harmonies like you have never heard before! His father Rob Young (AOP Muzik) is a singer, songwriter, producer and audio mix engineer. K-LIL’s maternal grandfather is a long-standing, self-taught musician (piano, keyboard, guitar, and saxophone). K-LIL became "in tune" naturally.
LIL-J has always been around music and recording studios, as his father owns a marketing/promotion company for Hip-Hop and R&B recording artists. LIL-J learned early how to write and record music and now his skill set spans far beyond his years. LIL-J has cited Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz as his inspirations. LIL-J wants to collaborate with several artists like Jacob Latimore, Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior and other rising young stars of the music industry with hopes of having a hit record at the top of the Billboard R&B and Hip Hop sales charts and performing all over the U.S. and abroad.
Most recently K-LIL & LIL-J were cast by The Bailey Agency School of Fashion to walk in the 2012 RunwayRed Celebrity Kids Fashion Show in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result of their bubbling energy and shameless promotion that they are indeed hip hop artists first; The Bailey Agency extended an invitation to the young duo to perform at the First Annual Miss Renaissance Pageant in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s safe to mention that their fans will notice the common theme of fashion in K-LIL and LIL-J's lyrics.
K-LIL & LIL-J were selected again to perform at the 2013 Miss Renaissance Pageant.
The duo has recently been booked to perform at pageants, fashion shows, step shows, community functions and talent showcases. K-Lil & LIL-J are always eager to be on the stage and perform for audiences of all kinds. Their objective is to prove that young people of the hip-hop culture are still Young Fly and Full of Swagg!
