Some of my other influences include, Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson, Eve, Jodeci,, Boys to Men and Naz.At this time I am working in the studio with my partner Waun LA on a mix tape, as well working on solo songs. My love for rap stretches over tens years. While attending Wright State University, outside of my studies, I wrote songs, and formed a mini girls rap group in which we were busy free styling and performing in the different dorms on campus. While on campus, I became known as the “girl rapper who raps like a dude but with finesse.” When I rap I like to try and think outside the box and strive to keep the audience in “awe” and wonder what is coming next. Some feedback I received after performing was “I can’t believe you said that,” or “who would think of something like that?’ For me, as a rapper, that’s the reaction I want to accomplish when performing. I want people to know that I am an artist, which is more than a rapper. To me almost anyone can say that they are a rapper, but to say you are an artist truly means you have talent. I feel musical diversity makes a unique ensemble, which is released in Renee Starr’s music.
