Born and raised in the Caribbean, Everton Samuel moved to the United States in 1982 to pursue his dream, a successful career as a singer. His unwavering pursuit of that dream has landed him international performances, television appearances, radio interviews, and a loyal fan base that actively follows his performance schedule and music releases. Everton’s musical resume includes his work with Tampa, Florida based ‘Elements’ and ‘Open Minds’ bands with whom he sang reggae, calypso, and some popular music. With Everton’s powerful vocals on lead, both bands became local phenomena and opened for internationally acclaimed stars such as the Mighty Sparrow and Eddie Lovette. Everton currently sings lead for The New Direction Band which is based in Newark, Delaware. As a solo artist, Everton’s music – a unique blend of Caribbean, World, R&;B and contemporary jazz genres – has had far reaching appeal. He has performed in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. And in the year 2000, he performed at the Waltham Stowe Assembly Hall in London, England in a tribute to acclaimed R&;B artist, Jazzy B of the group Soul 2 Soul. Everton just completed his third solo, all original CD, Take a Look Beyond the Obvious, released July 2007. His first two CDs, In Harmony (1999) and Sunshine and Laughter (2001) acquired a fan following that gives testimony to Everton’s ability to reach a broad and diverse audience. His music transcends age and is enjoyed by teenagers, young adults, and mature audiences alike. With each new release, Everton’s music increasingly receives the attention of the media. He has made personal appearances on television and radio programs in the promotion of his CDs. His songs have received radio airplay on stations in the Tampa, FL and Baltimore, MD areas, as well as on Internet radio. As evidence of his growing acclaim, the song Morning Star from the album In Harmony was licensed by MTV for use on the soundtrack of their weekly TV series, Undressed. His love for music and his passion for performing are the main driving forces in Everton’s endeavor to share his original music with the rest of the world. Everton says of his music, “As long as people continue to listen, and as long as the inspiration to write and sing keeps flowing, I will continue to share my music with the world in the hopes of making a difference in someone’s life.” Everton is currently unsigned and actively pursuing a major recording contract.
