EVOLVEDe·volvedv. e·volve, e·volv·ing, e·volvesv. tr. 1. to develop or achieve gradually. 2. Biology. To develop by evolutionary processes.A moniker originally created to explore a darker, experimental, more underground side that "evolved" from his original garage house roots, DJ Mike Mucci (a.k.a. "Da Mooch") has been the man behind many successful artist names and club identities. From house stompers like "SEND ME SOME LOVE" and "THAT'S WHAT IT IS" under the name Da Mooch to dj staple "THE DOOR" in the guise of Circuit Boy, Mucci has built a solid reputation on the street as a composer with a knack for crafting memorable hooks, driving beats and insinuating grooves. Over the past two years, together with partner, Al Camara, the Miami-based production team has been racking up kudos from fellow jocks and producers all over the world with a unique, new dance sound that deftly combines influences of a classic, garage house background with a cutting-edge, progressive feel thickly layered with elements past, present and future known as the "Evolved Sound." In 2002 the duo spawned the underground anthems "THIS IS YOUR LIFE" and "MUTHERF*CKER", both signed to Subliminal's experimental label, Sondos. By early 2003, productions and remixes bearing the Evolved name made their way into the record bags of heavy hitters across the globe from DJ Vibe and John Digweed to Chus & Ceballos and Grammy Award-winning remix team Deep Dish, who sought out the Evolved remix of Aalacho's "SATELLITE" for inclusion on the their installment of the Global Underground series, "Deep Dish - Toronto #25" as well as a release of their own label, Yo!. 2003 also saw the release of two more Evolved originals, "A MATTER OF TIME" on the well respected UK imprint Baroque and another release on Sondos, "AFRIKA: THE DRUM" featuring Oba-Frank Lords' (the voice of Darkbeat.) In late 2003, Mike and Al launched their own label, Amplitude Recordings as an outlet to showcase more of their own originals as well as productions from up-and-coming local and global talent fitting the Evolved sound. The hightly anticipated first release, "Control" by Da Freeks has already gathered major industry attention even before its official street date. Remixes for high profile labels such as: Universal, Sony, Stereo, Twisted, Distraekt, En-Soul, and Artist such as: IIO, India, John Creamer, Formula Redux, Chus & Ceballos etc. Label Releases to date have included Productions & Remixes by: Dot Matrix, Martin Accorsi, Trendroid, Guido, Funky Junction, Michael M.
