Born in the middle of the Sweltering Fresno Summer, Feddio$o came out with a purpose since that first day. Mother Tamara, always knew and preached to him that he was a special young man, who was never destined to be what you would consider average. Shuffling back and forth, between L.A., to spend time with his father and his side of the family, and Fresno for most of his youth, he quickly realized that he would be recognized as a “Different Breed” from a young age, up to and including the present day. Most likely do to the fact that he would refuse to conform to the usual role accepted by his peers of gang banging, jail time, and a lifetime of low expectations, but unable to resist the call from an environment he came up in, mixed with a need to provide for his household since his High School years, “Be Good or Be Good At it” became his personal roadmap/mantra. After making it through the traumatic and sudden death of his sister in a single car accident, and watching his grandmother wither away from Breast Cancer by the age of 15, resiliency was something already noticeably present in the young Californian, along with a budding passion and talent for hip hop music. During High School, academics and athletics were of little to know concern as responisbilites in the home arose, calling on him to “Man Up” and “Do what he had to do to keep the lights on”, all while still trying to enjoy what he could of his high school experience. Although attendance could best be described as “spotty”. Feddio$o, or Feddi, would still manage to Graduate from High School, and walk the stage with his class. He says, “I never understood that actin’ dumb to be cool shit! I made it through and I wasn’t even in that Mutha----a half the time. After High School, Feddi did the typical “Fresno Thing”, “City College, punkass jobs, fake ass bitches and hatin ass niggas “ for a couple years, until he finally realized he was getting stuck in a “quicksand like environment“, and had better “Go get it, while the getting was good”, so finally he was on the way back to L.A., his 2nd home by default, for good. “Wasn’t no way I was bout to be a 20-something yr old, grown ass man still stayin’ wit my momz! Not havin’ it!!” But it turned out to be a decision that would have tragic consequences, and haunt him indefinetly. “Im not bout to go into all that, but long story short I lost a Mother and a cousin in one whop”. “I feel like s--t woulda been way different if I never left, but I had to do what I had to do as a man, and I never would’ve left if I would’ve known that was the price me and my family was gone have to pay”. Knowing now that the typical safety net a lot of young black men rely on was out of the picture for atleast the next 15 yrs to life, put a diamond’s edge on a already hardened perspective, and from then on all hopes and concerns for a normal life were of little to no consequence anymore. All the years of hard work to be a better person, seemed to have a punishing return instead of a positive, leading Feddio$o down the path he considered to be true to himself. “At that point, it was F--k Music!!! Straight up and down!! I figured if it was gonna happen it would’ve by then, and I need to make shit happen now”, so naturally fast money and fast lifestyles came. “It didn’t make no sense to deny it anymore”, he would add “So I did, whatever the fuck I wanted, whenever the fuck I wanted”. But unlike most stories u heard of this nature, there are no extended stays in anybody correction facility. “No snitchin‘, no snakin, I know my rights and I ain’t no dummy. That’s how u stay the f--k out they way.” After years of “Grindin’ It Out”, Feddio$o got tired of “makin life better for everybody i dealt with, except myself” and couldn’t continue to the ignore the beast hibernating within himself. It was time to “Stop wasting the Lord’s Blessing”, and get back to the mindset he says he was never supposed to leave. He cites a chance encounter with a high school friend, “Dude bumped into me, I’m on the blade, you know and we start chopping while he waiting on his ride. So he ask me what I’m out here doin? Now as Im explaining the get down, I just see dude face taking a turn for the worse, and I stop like what’s up? Dude gave me the coldest look, and jus shook his head like… Dude, if you not doing music, you not doin what God put you on this earth for. How You disregard that?” Even though it wasn’t immediate, the emotional reaction was never forgotten, and in fact, the sentiment was repeated multiple times throughout the years. Not expecting immediate success, Feddi sets out to claim what is rightfully his… an opportunity to share his story with the world. Applying the same dedication and resilience that had gotten him through the lowest of urban battlefields, he sees now that it is only a matter of time before the world finds out, what a Select Few, already know, dude is a force, a factor, and authentic as they come. Not relying on any alliances or “plugs” Feddio$o started his accension to the throne in the summer of ‘09 dropping Verses on the “My Thesis The Mixtape” (GTFO) w/ G-Mo of Citrus Soul out of AZ, and the “Purple Heart” and “Arlington Born” Street Albums from LA Area Up-and-Comers Showbizness and ShortStop bka Tiny Drawz, respectively. After knocking off the initial rust that had set in from years of inactivity, it was finally time to get to work on his debut project. The result is the soon to be released “Past Due” Street album, already drawing comparison to some of the hottest artists from today, and hip-hop albums from the past. “If you gone compare me to somebody, it gotta be somebody at the top of they game. All this average ass sh-t I’m hearing? The game need a nigga like me. It ain’t no truth in the music that’s comin out no more. I respect a few niggas out, but I respect the game above all”. Given time… undoubtedly, the game will reciprocate the love right back. Featuring production primarily from Disko (Problem - I’m Fu---d Up!!), Stantastic (Valley Boy), Cell Muzik (Showbizness, BG Cartel, Shortstop, Blu Sky), and more the album has a varied, yet consistently top tier sound that can sit side by side with any release on the shelf. The basic theme when it comes to features appears to be less is more. “It’s not my fault. I reached out to m--------as all over the region. From Nor cal to AZ and Vegas, even Memphis. Most niggas don’t wake up until after the sun already shinin, ya feel me? My $quad is on it that’s all I need. It wasn’t a feature fest on Reasonable Doubt, Slim Shady LP, or It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot neither. I just consider it another opportunity to show what I’m capable off. I can carry a song! F--k It!! I can carry an album!! This Paq10 Paper $quad s--t ain‘t no joke” When concerns about the state of the music industry, economy, or, dare I say, Illuminati/baphomet arise, they are dismissed as if they never occurred. “ I ain’t worried about none of that. Imma just let my music do the talking for me. I don’t do the latest trend following, no gimmicks or games wit me. Its not a bunch of nursery school s--t, I make real music, for real fu--ing people. People are never going to be without music, and my kids never gone be without food in they stomach or clothes on their back. And a n--a come at me with that weirdo s--t gone have a problem, so….?” Not to be taken lightly nor easily deterred, this Californian seems determined to make his mark, and I’m inclined to believe that, he is in fact ,“Past Due”. - AR23 Shoutouts: The Entire State of California, Paq10 Paper $quad, Citrus Soul Ent, Select Few Musique Group, Woodworks Records, Gilkey Entertainment Group 6ix Feet, Pocket Change, Politic Prod, AND ANY AND EVERYBODY ELSE WHO BEEN DOWN FOR THA CROWN.
