Fingers (Marques Reed) is Chicago born and Harvey raised. As a rap and hip-hop artists Fingers potent lyrics tell the story of his life and what he sees in this world by painting a vivid picture through the music that he creates. Fingers is now currently working on his highly anticipated debut project entitled “Talking With My Hands” due out in the early summer of 2008. During this time he will be working hard in the studio with producers Tye Hill and DJ Thunder of the Produktionix and Joker da Wild One of Global Eyez Ent, with some collaboration with Grammy nominated producer DJ Vudu of Vudu Spellz Ent. With this experienced class of producers this album is pegged to be a revelation from both a lyrical standpoint as well as a composition standpoint. Along with his busy recording schedule Fingers will be diligently working to promote this album by performing in various venues throughout the Midwest moving into the national circuit upon the completion and release of the project. As before mentioned Fingers was born in Chicago, IL and early in his childhood moved to arguably one of the roughest suburbs in the Chicago-land area, Harvey. Here is where he learned how to survive in the streets and began to hone his skills as an emcee. Watching what happened on a daily basis in his beloved neighborhood fueled his fire to talk about what he witnessed. Fingers then brought his mature and menacing style to his life long mentor Joe Nickels who made a couple phone calls that eventually teamed him up with Tye Hill. Early Titles like “How Long” and “Make It Rich” showed that this young street thoroughbred was lyrically ready for the big time. “Harvey’s Son” would quickly move through the freestyle battle circuit with relevant punch lines and the stage presence of a seasoned veteran. In 2004, Fingers would be runner-up in a controversial decision of the nationwide MGD freestyle battle series. Disappointed, but not defeated Fingers would return to become the 2005 MGD battle winner in Chicago. Battle tested, Fingers continues to create innovative hip-hop anthems working with some of Chicago’s hottest producers including Tye Hill, DJ Thunder, Joker Da Wild One and DJ Vudu. The artist though, would stick to his recording roots ultimately, making the bulk of his music with Tye Hill and DJ Thunder (Produktionix). Now the MC along with his fully assembled street team is burning down the streets with the BACK TO DA BLOCK movement, with Joe Nickel as the mastermind, and the marketing and promotion talents of C H U C K Marketing and the industry expertise of Global-Eyez Entertainment the block movement is now as strong as an army. Keep your eyes and ears open for the upcoming album and performance dates to get your chance to listen to Fingers.
