We’ve become the blind sheep that follow the wolf to our ultimate demise.It is not up to one man or woman to stop this plague, though we can make an escape; An experience that makes you realize you are unique, you are beautiful, and you are human. Late 2005 saw the creation of an experimental rock band in College Station, Texas. A quintet of rhythmic musings, melodic riffs, and soaring vocals, Flawless Escape paints a mural of sound that allows its audience to get away from it all, if only for a few hours at a time. This is the essence of Flawless Escape. It’s a way out, a way to release what’s burning inside you, a way to answer the question, ‘what the hell is going on around me?’ Sometimes that answer may find you in a ninja fight on a dark, moonlit night. To us, it’s living life to the fullest and coming to terms with morality, existence, love and creation; otherwise known as LIFE. Each Member occupies a particularly important aspect of our version of what is commonly referred to as a ‘band.’ A talented Poet and experienced performer, AJ delivers soulful lyrics of philosophical depth with face value fun. His Kiedis-esque stage presence captures and demands attention until his last breath or back flip, whichever comes first. In a constant flail of percussive motion, drummer Ryan Vyner (formerly of Skylar Blue, runt records, BMI) is a veteran player of 18 years and visual spectacle at all times. His honed dynamics and searching vision matched with the fresh bass tones of Kurt Willson make the rhythm section of Flawless Escape a constant and unwavering medley of massive beats and skillful rock. The guitar tracks are provided by the deep musical inkwell of Scott Willson. Scott’s twelve plus years of guitar musings and effects experimentation have resulted in a creative blend of towering leads, inspiring progressions and swimmy grooves. The guitar tones mesh well with each component of the band and fill out the sound spectrum with confidence. Rounding out the five-piece is auxiliary percussionist, Sax player, mix master DJ, and BMX shredder John Jeremy Thorpe, who adds the finishing touches and intriguing ambiances to the whimsical group through triggered samples and clever break beats. The songs are inspired by life and love, both enigmatic and universal. They are the result of a quest to avoid the norm, a desire to understand the pitfalls and perils of life as a twenty-something, and find an answer to the eternal question, ‘Why?’ “We don’t want to write negative songs without giving an outlet for redemption. We hope that inspires hope in people and sheds light on our version of the puzzle we call life” explains lead guitarist Scott Willson.We are influenced by: Physics, Nebulas, Einstein, Socrates (who said ‘I drank what?’), gravity, ninjas and their pursuit to defy gravity, people, thought, life, death, politics, religion, freedom, music, rhythm, indigenous peoples, the endless pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.We admire and give mad props to: you—for getting this far through our ramblings.
