Biography

Frankie Vinci and fellow musicians (Rock and Roll hall-of-fame members) Dino Danelli, Gene Cornish (The Rascals) and Wally Bryson (The Raspberries) along with Lex Marchesi formed the band “Fotomaker.” Oddly enough, it was The Rascals who also served to inspire the-then younger Vinci. They were signed to Atlantic Records by none other than the legendary Ahmet Ertegun, and their first album was produced by Eddie Kramer, (Hendrix, Zepplin and Kiss). Fotomaker was considered the first “Power Pop Band,” (of the 80’s) and had two songs that reached into the top 50 hit list on Billboard Magazine. From there Vinci knew no limits, and toured with the big boys (and girls) of rock. Aerosmith, Foreigner, Alice Cooper, Heart, Robert Palmer, Warren Zevon, Meatloaf, Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, (just to name a few)    Award winning producer Byron Gallimore (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill ) was impressed by Vinci’s songwriting and productions and signed him to his then newly formed publishing company Song Garden Publishing (Warner/Chappell) which in turn yielded him the opportunity to, co-write a beautiful song for Tim McGraw entitled “Somebody Must be Prayin’ for Me” (off the CMA album of the year A Place in the Sun) which reached Multi-Platinum status, and earned Vinci himself a Triple Platinum award.    And others have worked with Vinci as well, MANY others, …Roberta Flack, Luther Vandross, Robert Lamm (Chicago) Phil Ramone, Lou Reed, Sam & Dave, John Denver, Sammy Cahn, Michael Bolton, Will Lee, Anton Fig, Phoebe Snow, Steve Stephens (Billy Idol) Ricky Byrd, (Joan Jett) Marc Cohn, Valerie Simpson, Johnny Johnston, (Elton John) Gary US Bonds, Paul Shaffer, David Sanborn, John Poppo, Little Steven (Bruce Springsteen) have all had recording sessions with Vinci, and utilized his creative talents, and musical abilities over the years. As if that weren’t enough, how about composing the longest running football theme in television history? Millions of sports fans ran to the TV every Sunday for 11 years when they heard those catchy notes. The CBS Game of the Week Football theme has aired on five Super Bowl Games from 1992-2003. Then there’s the commercials (and Jingles) Vinci had 15 national toy commercials running in a single year, which earned him the title of “The Toy King of Jingles,” in Adweek Magazine. Hasbro, Milton Bradley, Tyco, and Matchbox, just to name a few, all call on Vinci to entice viewers to ‘come out and play’. Vinci has also composed TV themes and jingles for such media giants as CBS Sports and Movies, Fox Sports and News, USA Nashville Star, MTV, and CMT. Other well-known products in American culture such as Mt. Dew, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Visa, Duncan Hines, Nestle Crunch and Baby Ruth have Vinci’s stamp on it as well. There’s an art to creating something catchy and with wide spread appeal, and maybe, just maybe, the name “Vinci” is in its own right, is not just a name, but an aphorism for his work.       So, where does Frankie Vinci go from here? He’s a man with a musical mission: to give it all the “Vinci” touch. His musical publishing name; “DaVinci Music,” pretty much says it all, but even more so, the world is his canvas, and the notes are his brush. His next piece of work is just a few strokes away….on his guitar, that is……. WWW.FRANKIEVINCI.COM WWW.MYSPACE.COM/FRANKIEVINCI
