Times best-selling book, "This is Your Brain on Music", in which author Daniel Levitin, Phd., scientifically examines the vastly important role music plays in society, particularly in the development of children. These new understandings, sadly, come at at time when more and more schools are phasing out music classes.As a veteran private teacher in the Southern Nevada area, Frank has seen too many promising students fall by the wayside because their families could not afford to continue their instruction. One can't help but wonder how many more never even got the chance to start for those same economic reasons. When a business contributes ($250 minimum) to the Musical Arts Scholarship Program, they are invited on the show to make a check presentation and talk about their product or service. Depending on the amount donated, these televised segments can run up to 5 minutes in length. Thereafter, these businesses will be mentioned by name at the end of each show for weeks to come. Inasmuch as Perry Como had more #1 (14) and Top Ten (47) hits than any other singer plus starred in a prime-time network television show that ran for 15 years, it shouldn't be surprising this tribute has received standing ovations with crowds clamoring for more.
