Hailing from Waterloo, Ontario, The Freemason are a blues, rock, and folk conglomerate that have been together just a few short months. The band is composed of four friends who grew up playing and learning music together, and this among other things give the foursome a grassroots energy and unique on stage chemistry. Growing up in Listowel, a small town in Southwestern Ontario, the group were often found playing together even by accident, pushed together in a tight-knit musical scene, and soon settled into the group as it is today. The result of these many years of playing together in different groups is The Freemason. With the musical support of Mitchell Dekker on drums, Scott Bowman on bass, and Riaz Qureshi on lead guitar, the once bare bones acoustic tracks of Alex Mason take on a new life entirely and embody a vintage sound in a modern context. Driven by lyrical wordplay and rhythmic choruses; folk, blues and rock elements come together to produce an undeniably energetic and fun mix. The band finds its home in Waterloo, and are hungry for performance opportunities. They have played (and continue to play) across Ontario and beyond, and with their debut full length album, 'Blood and Wine' only a few months away, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a fury of touring yet.
