Jazzmend is an emerging band from Central Indiana. They are: Troy “Tyler” Burk on guitars and vocals, JC on percussion and vocals, and JeNACeeDS on bass, keys, and vocals. Drawing on inspiration from an eclectic mix of the original heavy masters like Black Sabbath and rock gods KISS, the progressive rock of the 70’s like Rush and Yes, LA rock of the 80’s and 90’s, and experimenting with the sounds of the digital age, Jazzmend weaves together a tapestry of impeccable covers and outstanding originals. Melody, rhythm, and harmonizing vocals are a perfect match for throbbing bass lines, searing guitar riffs, and pounding percussion. This band will have you moving to the dance floor or nodding your head to the beat from the first chord.
Fresh out of the recording studio after finishing solo albums and other projects, Jazzmend is now available for live performances. This hard-working trio has that rare combination of talent and skill meets passion and a high standard of professional excellence. They will soon be playing to packed houses of enthusiastic fans.
Tyler is a songwriter/performer who has been everything from a stagehand, roadie, and guitar tech to a performer himself. He has work with such acts as Transmatic, Tantric, Poison, Tommy Lee, Scott Humphries, Dane Clark, and Quiet Riot. Tyler has worked in conjunction with Immortal Records, Warner Bros. Records, Road Runner Records, Proton Productions and Afton Booking Agency. His solo project “A New Year” is currently available on Amazon.com.
JC started out singing in his church choir and playing in a high school band. Over the years, he has worked with such acts as Tommy Lee, Transmatic, Kidd Comet, In A Daze, and Southdown. JC has also worked with companies like Road Runner Records, Nuvo News Weekly, Indylive.com, Indy Locals Television Broadcast, and X103.
JeNACeeDS was a music fan at the tender age of three. She picked up the bass in junior high and still hasn’t put it back down. Since then, she expanded her musical skills to include guitar and keys. JeNACeeds says she’s just happy to be alive and still playing music.
Tyler and JC have been jamming together for years. Once they met Jen at an open mic night at their local club, they knew they’d found their long-awaited bass player. That first night, JC and Jen entered the initial round of the Battle of the Bands and won. Ultimately, they were co-winners of the entire contest four weeks later. Recognizing their instant chemistry, the trio started rehearsing and recording together immediately, taking their name from one of Tyler’s original songs.
Jazzmend intends to make a name for themselves by playing as often as possible, creating quality music for their fans, and putting on the best show they can. This group of exceptional musicians has a great deal to offer the music world. As Tyler sings,
