Josh Lory moved to Humboldt County in 2008 and the surroundings, the independent spirit of the music in the area, and his place in life at that time started to inspire him to write music different from anything he had written before. Josh recorded the bass, drums, percussion, and a great deal of guitar tracks. When he thought about who would fit for some additional instrumentation and vocals, he knew Matt Biggers would be a perfect fit. After about a year and a half of production and pre-production, mostly via the internet, Josh and Matt finally handed it over to their friend and studio whiz Masaki Liu to complete the final mixing as well as mastering. The album, entitled "Return of the Halcyon Days" pays a great deal of homage to the great music of the '50s and '60s, but true to collaborate efforts between Josh and Matt, it has its own more modern influences which are derived from their varied modern musical influences as well.
