http://www.gambitfamily.com Gambit Family is the brainchild of Willie Spade who originally used the name as a curtain to allow other artists to perform with him stating they were all under the same company.  The term "Gambit" is used in chess meaning to "Sacrifice a smaller piece to gain a winning advantage" or more commonly now as "A maneuver" however; It is erroneously stated it came from the X-men character.  After no longer needing to sponsor other artists under him for them to get shows at select venue's the name became rather obscure.  It finally re-emerged after Spade & Mick Swagga (Then "Mr.") met and began to collaborate.  At this time Spade had decided he would put his energy elsewhere exhausted from the level of growth he experience but the lack of impact he had in Montgomery's music scene. The idea of the group was to utilize Mick Swagga's powerful baritone/tenor voice and to supplement it on songs as a way to create quickly palpable music for a diverse fan base.  As Spade prefers the 4-bar build up punch line style, he searched for the strongest lyrical unit he could assemble to create his masterpiece, all 3 members are known astoundingly for their metaphors, commanding unique voices, trademark adlibs and themes, as well as the ability to unify with different artists to bring about great on record performances.Willie Spade started off as a battle emcee on AOL back in 1999, slowly transitioning to a song writer as the years passed. In 2005 he released his first full album entitled "The Urban Renaissance", The Famine in 2006, The Collaboration album with Nah'ledge "The Civil War: North vs. South" in 2007 and the critically acclaimed "Gump Gumbo" in 2008.. Since the Urban Renaissance, Willie Spade has managed to release a project every year.  Including 2 mix tapes "The Loco-motive" & "Constant Pacing".  His style and voice have changed frequently over time a talent he now utilizes to bring his vocals to life, his trademark "Ha-Ha!" and "Hol it Manne" and is known for his brash assertive razor sharp voice, unique punch lines and intricate metaphors, creative style, and fearlessness for controversial subject matter.Mick Swagga was already familiar with success after being offered a contract at the age of 13 but couldn't receive consent from his parents to accept.  He and Willie Spade met while both working at the same company.  Spade heard Mick belt out daily during breaks and asked him to lay his vocals for a track he was doing.  Being impressed with his range and strength of his vocals they continued to collaborate at first Spade was going to assist Mick in his first solo R&B album but it lead into them joining forces and beginning The Gambit Family.Jay Ea$e had a following in his own right as a freestyle battler, going as far as to win Alabama State Universities BET freestyle competition overwhelmingly.  He has also done work for the CW Channel as well as molded many local artists.  His signature laugh and patient delivery showcase his individuality in the group and is the most vocal to the viral fan base.  His association with the brand began when The Gambits (Then Mick & Spade) were looking for features to help fill the holes in their first project.  They audition many rappers for the 2nd verse of the original "I'm So Fly" but Mr. Jay won them over with his lyrical ability and style.   After a falling out with his record label he offered his services to the Gambit Family if needed.  After a meeting Jay-Ea$e was branded and joined the family.Uni-Ali was actually sought out as an original member, but was associated with the Legendary River $ity Rydaz at the time.  He did however; make appearances on the first Picture Perfect album, he later contacted Spade a year and a half later and asked if there was still room for him in the group.  Uni has a unique delivery that has been proven to fit on multiple beats.  His voice is gritty and demanding with vicious punch lines and a very aggressive style.  The groups is also infamous for their high energy stage shows and have touched stages from AL, TX, IL, GA, FL, NC, VA, NY, PA and more.  The release of Picture Perfect I was originally intended as a commercial release but members of the group either left or were removed from the roster having worked on the album 8 months instead of purchasing the beats they used Soundclick.com beats for free promotion and uploaded the album on the internet.  Within a week they had already received 6,000 listens and 700 downloads on Thatcrack.com (removed due to issues with industry instrumentals).  Spade then decided to beef up his roster and find artists with a higher work ethic that could produce quality in large quantities.  Picture Perfect: Double2ake was also originally slated as a commercial release however; after a financial dispute with iTunes it was decided to upload the album on bandcamp.com and release it to the public as a free project and has received GREAT responses across the board.  Picture Perfect: 3D is slated for release in Q4 of 2012.The most notable songs by the faction are: "Blow It All Away", "Cameras", "Boogie", "Babygirl is a Baller", "Rock-N-Roll", and "Superstar"Notable achievementsAnnual performers at the NYC Marathon for 3 years (Willie Spade 5 years)Gambit Family has been voted best set every year they have attended the event.Released first music video "Blow It All Away" received over 40,000 total views combined through all video streaming media sites it was uploaded toWere headlined in the first Alabama Hip-Hop Documentary "Rize-N-Grind" *Willie Spade was the opener for the film*Their song "Superstar" was chosen as the films theme.Picture Perfect I: The Negatives received over 25,000 listens before removed from thatcrack.comWon V103 open mic contest 2 weeks in a rowWon Atlanta Open Mic contest in Club RendezvousScored perfect in Atlanta's Apache ClubFinalist in Fame U.K. tour contest.
