Born to Senora Hemphill and Cleve Battle, Postman is his mothers only child and his fathers youngest. At a young age Postman developed a liking for oldies-but-goodies and listening to gospel, of such artist like; Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Kirk Franklin, and that whole Philly sound which was part of his musical influence. As he got older he began listening to rap music he can relate to. Being the son of two singers/songwriters, music is no stranger to Postman. At the age of 13, Postman began to follow in his parents footsteps with music, while rapping with close friends as a hobby. It would be a year later that his once hobby became something he wanted to seriously pursue. At the age of 14 he met up with long time friend Jamal Tha Great and began recording in the basement of his house. While recording with him and a group of other artists, they would collaborate making several songs, perfecting there craft. It wasn’t long before this group of talented artist would form a group called C.T.G. (CLIENTTELLGANG). While in the group Postman gained a better understanding and knowledge for music, helping him dictate how to approach a song or a certain beat style. Being the youngest and the shortest in the group, Postman would stand out! He also would stand out behind the microphone attracting the ears of every listener who would come across C.T.G.’s material. Before, and while maintaining his position in the group, Postman strives to be a solo artist. With his country like swag and many ways of word play, members of C.T.G. knew he could hold his own on a song by himself. Once he got a chance to showcase his talent as a solo artist he would prove not only can he hold his own; but his music was respectably relevant. Being from D.C. and currently residing in Suitland, Maryland, Postman illustrates his surroundings while giving a piece of his own life. As a rap artist and a conscience writer, Postman is not afraid of expressing his feelings towards subjects of choice. Postman feels like his city has been looked over to long and is ready to take the music industry by storm with a show and prove attitude. With his versatile skills Postman can appeal to any crowd stemming from his peers to his elders. Postman wants to show his peers, that all dreams are possible through God that strengthens us.
