About Gary Hays

Inverness, FL

Independent songwriter/performing artist. I currently perform as an acoustic solo cover artist, preferring to do so locally, as I am a semi-retired musician. In the past, I served as lead guitarist/vocalist with the USAF rock band, spent many years as full-time beach musician in St. Petersburg, Florida, and ten years in Nashville performing at well-known clubs, to include the Bluebird Cafe, Broken Spoke Saloon, Hall of Fame Lounge, and others. I am also the previous owner of the once very popular Nashville songwriters club, Hobo Joes. In addition, I have performed throughout Southern Europe and at many, many, locations in the USA.

I am an advocate of pure acoustic music. No drum machines, artificial loops, voice enhancers, or pedals, are ever used. Acoustic means what it implies. My volume is strictly regulated to suit the needs of the environment, whether it be a restaurant, bar, or private function.

My current repertoire includes songs by James Taylor, Bob Seger, Cat Stevens, Eagles, Don McLean, Kenny Loggins, Jimmy Buffet, Neil Young, Bruno Mars, Willie Nelson, Carole King, and the list goes on. I try to give everybody something they'll enjoy, and I perform a variety of styles to suit the majority of the crowd.

The album "Almost A Dozen" was recorded in Nashville with all "AAA" studio players that have recorded with Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, on & on. I sincerely hope that you enjoy the efforts that went into the making of this CD. Thanks. Individual tracks are available all over the internet at places like itunes, etc. Google "Gary Hays Music" I have also added some songs that I recorded late at night in my home studio just for the heck of it. Mostly instrumentals. Please overlook the flaws and enjoy the character or something like that. I am "the band" on these.
