In '67, there was what we deemed a garage band (who knew?) a few blocks from my house and just up from the Morton East High School in Cicero. They called themselves "The Chicago Transit Authority". They were so awesome that they were my "Inspiration". I've been a musician ever since. If you know the band, then you understand the humor in that statement. If not, than it is a puzzle you won't appreciate until you look up the band. I have met and often picked a few with a great deal of popular musicians through the years. Bob Dylan even signed my guitar. But, the three I enjoyed and performed with most were Sammy Skulnik (Lead Trumpet for the Tommy Dorsey Band), Charlie Gates (Lead Guitarist for Hank Williams, Sr), and Art Petty (Tom Petty's uncle and mentor).
