Tavares Gill loved listening to music, but the first time he was invited to sit in on a recording session; Tavares’ world lit up. I seen joy appeared on his face and from that point on he transformed into someone I never seen in my lifetime. Instantly that's when I knew creating and bringing forth a life changing art form has always been his passion, and his purpose on this earth. I've known Tavares Gill for many years and he was the type of person whose purpose in life was headed down the wrong path; a dead end.
Now in 2010 Tavares Gill has something to look forward to and that is to bring joy, peace, and inner-healing to someone’s life. This young man once told me that Jesus sent him a message to spread his word across this land. I didn't believe what was told to me until Tavares started to look for some talent and started writing songs for him as well as others. After just hearing one of his inspirational songs, I was blown away... in disbelief. The talent that had been brewing inside of this young man this whole time has been finally unleashed. Tavares has grown tremendously within him self, also within his love for life itself.
Listening to all of the deeply heartfelt songs he has shared with me; I am blessed to hear such inspiration, admiration, and ambition in his work. Through Tavares’ poetry I can honestly say I felt a change in my life as well and His songs made me want to do better for myself. Also, the lyrics pierced my heart and give me a sense of direction. As young boy Tavares didn't know how to express his feelings at all. Some called him sneaky and naive, but he calls it shyness and always being disappointed. Then one day he met a young girl who wrote a poem about a loved one that had passed away that was dear to him. After a year has passed another loved one passed away 3 months later and a poet surfaced within himself. That's when he fell in love with creative art and music is just another form of expression he can bring to the world.
This project started and came about sometime in the year of 2008. It was hard for Tavares dealing with a lot of personal things he was going through. His life had gotten so confessed and turned around he didn't know how to deal with his self anymore. The hardest thing he had was no one to talk. So Tavares decided to do things his way, from that point on in his life he started to suffer more than he ever did. All of a sudden Mr. Gill was sent away. The days began to seem longer and most days seen faster than others. No longer wanting to feel this way the only person Mr. Gill could talk and turn to for guidance was Jesus. As time went on Tavares lost something he loved, writing. Thru it all he gained something far more important and that was a sense of awareness.
His whole life did a 360 turn for the better. Tavares developed a new form of writing. See, Jesus didn't want just anybody to place his words, blessing, and truth on deaf ears- he chooses Tavares Gill, someone with no sense of direction. So later in the year of 2008 Gods plan was starting to form. When the Devil got wind of what God plans was for this young man, he put all types of obstacles in Tavares way. Tavares tried to give up, but Jesus said ”no son; let my will be done” and though it was hard Tavares looked within himself and pushed his life harder than he had ever done before.
Out of nowhere God sent another one of his children; BMA Recording Artist Matt Heart to breathe life into the mouth of the world. When Tavares envisioned a title "Slow Dance With you Jesus" and told his longtime friend Matt Heart about this title, Matt was inspired. Matt Heart Immediately started writing Lyrics for the song. Tavares and Matt started making preparation of this amazing song. Day after day of soul searching God blessed the two gentlemen with a midnight passionate melody. Soon After the father sent his love from above and magic was created.
