James "Hannabal" Peele. Born "Sep. 4, 1983" in Norfolk VA and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. The youngest of 3 boys to a strong single mother. Hannabal learned at an early age that family and money are the 2 most important things in the world. After all, he only had his mom and 2 older brothers and they were poor. His mom would say "Set a goal for yourself son, and don't stop until you pass that goal". Little did she know that her youngest would grow to be one of the most talented hip hop artists from Virginia. Hannabal made straight A's all the way up to high school. This kid was a genius! This all changed in the 10th grade when he was kicked out for so called "drug dealing". It was at this point that he turned to the pen and pad to release his emotions that had suddenly come to light. At 16, he began calling a local radio station (92.1 the beat) show called "2 white boys and a beat" the hottest live radio show in V.A at the time. They held a battle competition every other night called "the beat down " where local m.c' s call in and battle live over the air and the listeners call in and pick the winner. Long story cut short, Hannabal won 53 times in a row and was eventually heard by DMX's Ruff Ryder scouts in the area. He linked with the Ruff ryder squad for about a year and split due to technicalities with the scout managers. In 2003 he came in contact with V.A' s "Clipse" they admitted that they had indeed heard of him and would like to help him in anyway they could. Due to reasons unknown it didn't happen and Hannabal was forced to do for himself 100 percent. Since then he has become an established local producer and responsible for a long list of hot tracks from well known artist in the industry. Not only is he a producer but a very versatile m.c who has a grind and voice like no other in the world. He has done shows with DIPSET/ LIL SCRAPPY CLIPSE/ NINA SKY/ BONE CRUSHER / STATE PROPERTY/ LIL FLIP / AND MURDER INC. Young, fly and flashy. He is the next best and biggest thing to hit hip hop
