Poignant and poetic lines like these from the bridge of ‘Not So Much a Heartbreak’ are the reason musician friends have affectionately nicknamed Harmony the “lyrical assassin.” Influenced by logophiliacs like Fiona Apple, Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) and Lauryn Hill, the lyricism of his debut EP Love Is Not an Accident is intelligent and imaginative but never inaccessible. Harmony’s gift of phrasing, timing, pacing and rhyming intrigues the avid liner-note-lyric-reader and the casual listener alike.
His voice is no less captivating. Soulful and sweet, Harmony, sings with sun-kissed smokiness. Alt-rock aficionados will rightly hear the influence of singer-songwriters like Ben Harper and Jeff Buckley.
