"The crunch of AC/DC, the swagger of the Stones, and the melodies of Tom Petty..." -Alternative Press The Chicago quartet HAWK makes a driving, melodic rock that is singular yet somehow familiar, leaving melodies that catch in your head and seem like they've been there forever. Hawk released its breakthrough album "Princess America" (featuring a cameo in voice and word by Lawrence Ferlinghetti) in 2005, and received rave reviews worldwide and national airplay on AAA and Alternative radio, and was the subject of a program on German National Radio (DLF) featuring new topical/political music from the U.S. Chicago powerhouse WXRT radio chose "Find a New Road" as one of the best Chicago songs of the year, and "What's Goin Down" was chosen as the lead-off track for American Fallout Records' Americana Sampler Vol.1, which went to #3 on the National Roots radio chart and remained on the chart for over 10 weeks. Their 2007 follow-up, "ROCK N ROLL", blew up at college radio, getting rotation at over 250 stations stateside and broke through in Spain and Germany and the UK. Mixed by acclaimed producer Dave Trumfio (Wilco, OK Go, Built to Spill, My Morning Jacket) at Kingsize Sound Labs in Los Angeles. The 11 new tracks on "ROCK N ROLL" take you back to a mid-70s Rock vibe that bristles with loud guitars, raw, stripped-down rhythms, and infectious melodies. The album was inspired by "the badass orange Camaro my brother had when we were growing up" Hawkins says, "We'd drive around, getting stoned, listening to AC/DC, Zeppelin, Humble Pie, and the Stones...you know, REAL music. That's where these songs came out of." Visit the HAWK website at http://www.hawkmusic.net for streaming albums, free downloads, news, and more.
