About ian Mark
Ian Mark is a Singer/songwriter composing in many styles including blues, folk, flamenco and inspirational. While his home base is Canada, Ian has lived in the United States (Georgia) and in Mexico, Peru and Paraguay to perfect his Spanish. His travels have exposed him to a number of musical influences which speaks to the diversity of his styles.
After years of self taught exploration Ian studied both classical and flamenco guitar. This flamenco influence can be heard in many pieces such as First & Last Embrace and Tristeza. Giving concerts at the Mustered Seed Homeless Shelter in his home town of Calgary inspired Ian to write the blues song Night Time Streets. "There's A Time" and "Majesty Of God" are his first cd releases.
In February, 2010 Ian will be releasing his third cd This Is The Day. It will include his own compositions as well as covers of What A Wonderful World, Old Man River and Greensleeves. Both of these songs are a perfect fit with his picking style and the classical guitar. His writing shows increased maturity especially with This Is The Day and There Is A TIme.
